What is Calcite?

Calcite is a carbonate mineral with the chemical formula CaCO3 (calcium carbonate). This mineral is often one of the main components of rocks such as limestone and marble. Calcite is a mineral widely found in nature and can come in different colors, but is usually white or colorless.

Calcite is of great importance in the field of mineralogy due to its physical properties and crystal structure. Calcite crystals, whose crystal structures are in the trigonal system, are used in optical instruments to study their optical properties and produce various light effects. Also;

Although it can be shipped from regional quarries, considering the proximity to the needed area and the desired quality; Adapazarı, Balıkesir, Çanakkale and Trakya (Thrace) Region , Istanbul are the main supply areas.
